Join Therapeutic Recreation Society of Colorado (TRSC) Section for 2 exciting presentations on September 20th in Boulder:

Schedule of events:

8:30-9:00 AM Check in & Networking with coffee and light breakfast

9:00-10:30  AM: Presentation by Jo Burns, MS, CTRS "Weaving a Tapestry of Health: Many threads one purpose”

Beautiful tapestries are not just one color or one thread. They are complex patterns with multiple colored threads woven carefully with a specific picture in mind.  Health is like a tapestry. It’s not the result of any one thread but the combined work of many that allows us to strive for health.  Let’s examine the many partners (threads) collaborating in multiple sectors across professions to promote and improve health in our communities.  We’ll look at the Colorado Public Health/Parks & Recreation Collaborative, engage in activities and discussion. Then thoughtfully investigate how Therapeutic Recreation can contribute to these community partnerships and leverage them for our clients, community health opportunities and funding.

10:30-10:45 Q & A and a stretch break

10:45 AM -12:00 PM: Natalie Bostow of Staunton Park & Mike Halpert of Grip Freedom Chairs

Staunton Park is innovating open spaces with their Track Chair program. Session will focus on increasing access and health through innovative seating options and programming.
