Join us for the Evidence-Based Practice: The NSCD Model and Applications for Community Settings on March 14 in Lakewood!  The TRSC Section is excited to hear from Sydney Sklar, Marcia Jean Carter, and Kathleen Sachs on this subject!

Session Description:

Evidence-based practice in community therapeutic recreation settings is increasingly in demand as practitioners have been pressed to increase accountability. The National Sports Center for the Disabled, in partnership with the University of St. Francis, developed a community-based model for documenting and reporting guests’ progress and functional outcomes in therapeutic programs. In this workshop, participants will learn about NSCD adaptive sports programs, review the development process of a new documentation model and related documents, and apply the model to various community-based therapeutic recreation settings. Attendees will leave the session with tools for application and outcomes documentation. Participants are encouraged to bring agency assessment and documentation forms for discussion. Session Length: 3.5 hours
