Nite of the Stars
This unique talent show is a statewide completion for ages K-12. Performers compete in the categories of VOICE, MUSIC and VARIETY. Local competitions are held by participating Cities and Municipalities and the first place winner in each age category and performance category move on to compete in the State competition. The purpose of the PLAY group is to provide a network for Recreation Professionals to support licensed programs, such as preschool and school-aged, where ongoing communication and education will develop a unified group under Recreation Services of CPRA. For more information contact Yasmin Cassini, Kim Evelsizer or Cathy Berends
- To become a unified group, for both preschool and school age programs, in order to communicate more efficiently and consistently with the Colorado Department of Human Services.
- To provide training and education opportunities throughout the network.
- To offer support and guidance to Recreation Professionals regarding licensing issues.
- To research and develop standard manuals, which will provide consistency between licensing agencies and give recreation professionals a guideline of operating procedures, which will be approved by the CDHS.
When: Every other month - alternating pre-school and school-age
Where are meetings typically held: TBD
Who is invited: Anyone interested in pre-schoool and school age programming
What is typically discussed: Licensing issues, PLAY Conference, team building, staff training and recognition
Teen Team is comprised of individuals who work with youth and teens in a recreation or educational setting, as well as with other aspects of local government. Teen Team provides a forum for individuals who work with youth and teens to share resources, network with other professionals and gather ideas. They host a Youth Summit each Fall. If you are interested in participating in this group please contact Courtney Sibayan.
When: September, November, January, March, May
Meeting locations change with every meeting, however we typically meet within the North Denver area
Who is invited: Anyone who works with teens or has an interest in learning or sharing ideas
What is typically discussed: teen programming, youth summit, summer camps, teen volunteers, youth councils/boards
